From January 2016 I’ll become the Head of European Technology editorial at Bloomberg, located in London as I am now. This is the next step for me, having spent the last year running the digital editorial team in Europe and launching Bloomberg.com/Europe, the first ever regional edition of our flagship website.
I’m extremely excited to be getting back involved in my core subject area of technology. The team I’ll be in charge of is tasked with telling the story of disruption and innovation, the clash between upstarts and incumbents and the regulation of emerging technologies and established tech giants. This global Bloomberg tech group will collaborate closely with our legal, telecoms, media and other beat reporting teams. It’s going to be amazing, and the cross-platform opportunities we have at our disposal here at Bloomberg, from digital data journalism and Businessweek, to television, radio and podcasting, make me tremendously excited about 2016 and how Europe’s technology scene can be opened up.
I’ll be working with the fantastic Tom Giles, Brad Stone and others in the U.S. as well as an all-star team here in Europe, and also Asia. Expect big things.
I’ll be winding down and handing over my current duties through to the end of this year, starting the new role fresh in the new year. If you’re the next big European technology success story, know who is, or have something in the pipeline you think Bloomberg should know about — get in touch. I can’t wait to hear from you (which you can do by emailing lanxon at icloud dot com...).
My own technology podcast Tech’s Message will continue to publish as normal.
